Creating fiber art and sewing clothes are my passions, and bring a lot of joy to my life. Connecting with people who feel the same way is the main reason for this blog, so I’m thankful that you are here!
During the last several years, I’ve discovered a love for making modern quilts, one square at a time. Slow sewing seems to be my thing, and I know I’m not alone in that. Making design choices one by one brings a mindful, meditative quality to time in the studio that enables the creator to let go of the outside world and focus on just one thing: What they are doing in that present moment. I find that incredibly healing and fulfilling. Someone else said it more eloquently:
Robert FrostWe make a little order where we are, and the big sweep of history on which we can have no effect doesn’t overwhelm us. We do it with colors, with a garden, with the furnishings of a room, or with sounds and words. We make a little form, and we gain composure.
Here’s my current project on the design wall. All my designs are original, and my focus is on intoxicating colors and exquisite stitching.
